Speaking to newsmen, a community leader, David Ogba Onuoha, condemned the gruesome attack on Isu community.
He said: “I received with huge shock and pain the news of the recent unprovoked and gruesome attack on Isu communities of Arochukwu Local Government Area in Abia North Senatorial District of Abia State.
“Testimonies are to the effect that iheosu, Aba, and Amachi communities of Isu clan in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia North Senatorial District which are boundary communities, were invaded by armed hoodlums from Utuma community in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State with whom they share boundary.
“The invaders visited severe carnage on the Isu communities. Many lives were lost in the process, homes were razed down. Members of the affected communities now live as refugees in IDP camps in neigbouring communities of Obieze and Ututu.
“The incident is as unfortunate as it is pathetic. I therefore call on the relevant security agencies including the armed forces to urgently intervene to arrest further escalation of the crisis. I also call on NEMA to mobilize relief support to the affected communities.”
