Arewa Youths, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Take Parley Talk To Abuja Over Quit Notice

Published

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council has met with the northern coalition with a view to charting a common course for peaceful co-existence of various groups in all parts of the country.

The meeting which was held Saturday evening in Abuja lasted several hours‎.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting in Abuja, Chairman of the Coalition of Northern Youths, Yerima Shettima, who commended the move, said the peace meeting between the two groups however led to the formation of a six-member committee which will facilitate another meeting in the South-east.

On the Kaduna declaration of the coalition, Shettima said; “Leaving Nnamdi Kanu to go unpunished is totally unacceptable to us because he has so far done much damage on our psyche and our nation.

While commending the Ohanaeze Youth Council for a fruitful discussion, Shettima said: “I thank God we are talking with a recognized body of entire youths organisation in the South-east called Ohanaeze Youth Council that is known everywhere. It means that this is a welcome development and we are happy that they have actually sought to get our audience to discuss the way forward out of all these uprisings.

“We are glad to get some words coming out from the leadership of Ohanaeze Youth Council specifically on the area of seeking to see us to discuss issues; it means they realized that we are very angry and a lot of things has falling out of place as a result of their short coming in the sense that if they had called the young man to order from time past we wouldn’t have gone to this extreme.

“The second one is the assurance gotten from the president of the council. If I quote him very well, he said; ‘Nnamdi Kanu is just looking for self recognition’, and we became more relaxed and comfortable getting that from him and third one is him making efforts to bring MASSOB and IPOB together for us to go into round table discussion. I think it is a welcome development.”

Also speaking, National President Ohanaeze Youth Council, Mazi Okechukwu Isigusoro, thanked the northern coalition for a fruitful deliberation, adding that the council believes in one Nigeria.

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Reacts To FG’s Suspension Of Ruga, Reveals Next Move

Published

on

The leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has hailed the group for the suspension of the proposed Ruga settlements for herders by the Nigerian government.

Kanu made the commendation on Wednesday while reacting to the decision of the Federal Government to put on hold its proposed Ruga settlements which has raised dust in different corners of the country.

He noted that it was IPOB that took a principled stand and fired the first salvo against the Ruga initiative which he referred to as “evident Fulanization agenda”.

The IPOB leader said that the referendum on Biafra restoration is next on the group’s agenda.

He said: “As Jubril/the Cabal bows to pressure and SUSPEND implementation of their #RUGA, let me salute #IPOB worldwide which took a principled stand and fired the FIRST salvo against this evident Fulanization agenda. Better yet, RUGA or not, a #referendum on Biafra restoration is NEXT.”

President Muhammadu Buhari is said to have suspended the idea of establishing the Ruga settlements pending further notice.

We Have Decided To Do It And It Must Be Done” Sowore Meets Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (Photo)

The Publisher of Sahara Reporters and candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2019 general elections on Tuesday met with the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in New York, United States of America.

Ndigbo News gathered that both of them met in New York to strategize on what they describe as injustice in Nigeria.

The duo made their position known on Tuesday in New York after a series of closed door meetings.

In a Facebook live session to address the public, Sowore said, “We met to talk about things we’ve both been passionate about but on a different plane and we respect those boundaries but we’ve had very useful conversations today so that everybody that is aspiring for a fair and just society can come together and rise up now and bring an end to the sorrow and suffering and the domination and the oppression that has become almost synonymous with our generation and our genes in Nigeria.

“Those of you out there who think we have big differences and that we can’t talk, know that when people have revolutionary minds, these minds meet and bodies eventually meet.”

On his part, the IPOB leader hailed the meeting describing it as liberation for those trapped in the contraption called Nigeria.

Kanu said, “I met with my good friend Sowore and it has yielded today a confirmation that people can come together.

“There isn’t much of a difference for what we are fighting for because we are fighting for justice. We know and hope that the people that found themselves today trapped in that contraption called Nigeria will one day be free and it takes people to do it.

“I doubt it comes from heaven and we have to do it, we have decided to do it and it must be done.”

There’ll Be Fire If Miyetti Allah Ventures Into Igboland – Nnamdi Kanu

Published

on

The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has described as shameful and shocking the demand of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) to be allowed to establish vigilante group in Igboland, saying that will amount to a robber issuing notice of attack and one keeping quiet.

In a first ever press statement he signed, Kanu, who described Fulani cattle herdsmen as “Fulani army of darkness,” warned governors of the South East to await their calamitous end if ever such request is given a second thought.

This is as Ohanaeze Ndigbo has vehemently opposed any attempt by MACBAN to establish any form of vigilante group in Igboland.

Describing Fulani herdsmen as “the fourth most deadly terror group in the world,” Kanu shed tears that MACBAN was given audience at all in South East Governors’ meeting.

Part of his press statement read: “I condemn in totality, both in letter and spirit the underhand agreement between South East Governors and Fulani terrorists that led to the idiotic call by Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), the fourth most deadly terror group in the world, for the establishment of Fulani terrorist vigilante groups in Igboland Biafra.

“Without much ado, I wish to state as follows: that it is extremely shocking and shameful that, at a time when Fulani cattle herders have turned to terrorists and ravaging the North, Middle Belt and Yorubaland, Southeast Governors allowed Miyetti Allah to get away with such criminal demand on our soil.

“It’s akin to telling someone in advance that you are coming to rob his house and he allowed you to just walk away, while pleading with you that you should reconsider.

“Instead of ordering their immediate arrest on the spot for daring to so brazenly reveal their criminal intention to invade Igboland, the spineless cowards that pass for South-East governors appear to want to accommodate their demands.

“No doubt as payback for being rigged back into power by Abba Kyari-led Fulani cabal that run the government of Nigeria.”

Kanu said that Miyetti Allah, a mere cattle trading association, that later turned into a militant terrorist organisation is now openly threatening to conquer Igboland with the help of Igbo governors.

He feared that “the weak and rambling response of Governor Dave Umahi to the demand” may be a tactical approval of the request and warned that IPOB will not tolerate the establishment of any Fulani militia, masquerading as vigilantes, in Southeast or anywhere else in Biafraland.

He lamented that it was IPOB’s intention to set up vigilante services, otherwise known as Biafran Security Services (BSS) that was used as the immediate excuse by the same Southeast Governors to proscribe IPOB, and proceeded to invite the Federal Government to declare IPOB a terrorist organisation, and then launched Operation Python Dance that claimed scores of innocent lives.

He said should the Fulani herdsmen venture into Igboland whether with the permission of Eastern governors or not, they will meet there waterloo.

Also, in a statement through Emeka Atama, the Media Adviser to its President General, Nnia Nwodo, Ohanaeze vowed to resist any attempt by Miyetti Allah to establish vigilance group in the South East.

Ohanaeze stated: “These people (Miyetti Allah) have ravaged our farms, raped our women and slaughtered their husbands.

“As at today they technically enjoy immunity from arrest and prosecution. They freely display AK47 rifles not permitted to be used by civilians. Extending this measure to them will turn them into an army of occupation and invite unavoidable confrontations with our Youth,” Ohanaeze stated.

Ohanaeze therefore warned that it would resist such a policy with every might available to them.

Biafra! Why Nigeria Is Too Small For Igbo – Sowore

Published

on

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Nigeria’s 2019 election, Omoyele Sowore, has explained that if the Biafra agitation is assented to, “Nigeria is too small for Igbo“, Ndigbo News reports.

Also, Sowore said that former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Muhammadu Buhari do not deserve to enter the South East sub-region because they participated in the civil war that killed so many citizens of Igbo extraction.

He called on the Nigerian government to deliver justice for ‘Biafrans’.

Sowore made the call while responding to a question on the Biafran agitation when he spoke in a town hall meeting organised by the Take It Back Movement in Greece.

He said, “People are agitating for Biafra because they are looking for justice, the kind of justice that eluded them before the war, during the war and after the war.

“If they are guaranteed the justice that they are looking for, Nigeria is too small for Igbos. Igbos have conquered the world in terms of sports, business and professionalism.

“There is nowhere you go to in America that you don’t find them in health care and sports, the same with the Yoruba and the Hausa but in their situation, the Igbos were unjustly oppressed, killed, destroyed and emasculated within the Nigerian nation.

“The biggest error, however, is that Biafran leaders are very quick to vote for people who participated in the war.

“Didn’t Buhari participate in the war? Why was he allowed to even campaign in the East? Didn’t Obasanjo participate in the war?

“Every time there is an opportunity to have a new President that comes from the South-east, the first people they will bring to reject it are South-easterners. When Babangida wanted to leave, it was Nzeribe who said he must stay forever.

“When Abacha wanted to remain in power, they brought strong men for the East to endorse his continued stay. When Obasanjo wanted to elongate his tenure for three terms, it was one Odumegwu who used to be in Nigerian Breweries that was leading the agenda.

“But my question is, why can’t we find someone from the South-east who can do a better job?

“Why are they ahead of everybody saying this Yoruba person must not leave power, when is power going to reach the South East if each time there is an opening, you say the person who is there must continue?

“We must review the position of these leaders.

“The conversation about Biafra must be about how we can save our general humanity.”

MAZI NNAMDI KANU’S CO-DEFENDANTS CASE ADJOURNED

Published

From Abuja-Nigeria

With the appearance of both prosecuting and defending counsels in Justice Binta Nyako’s Presided Federal High Court 3 in Abuja Nigeria, proceedings could not however be carried out due to the reported ill health of the Presiding Judge herself.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s co-defendants in the persons of Benjamin Mmadubugwu, Bright Chimezie Ishinwa, David Nwawuisi and Chidiebere Onwudiwe who earlier appeared in court before 9:00 am today being Tuesday 18th June 2019, had copies of the Nigerian Constitution each, signalling their preparedness to exhaustively respond to the concocted/bogus charges preferred against them by the Nigerian government through it’s tyrannical, shambolic and comical security agency called Department of Security Services (DSS).

It will also interest all humanity with sound conscience to note that the very trumped up/bogus treasonable charges preferred against these family members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have criminally lingered over three years now without any appreciable seriousness attached by the prosecutors.

Further hearings of filed applications before the court, have however been adjourned to Thursday 31st of October 2019.
