The trials of suspected kidnapper Evans and five others were stalled on Friday at the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja.
It was learned that proceedings were stalled because counsel to Evans, Olukoya Ogungbeje, was absent.
But he had written a letter to Justice Hakeem Oshodi to seek an adjournment of the case.
Evans and five others were arraigned before the judge on August 30, 2017, on two charges bordering on conspiracy and kidnapping.
The other defendants are Victor Aduba, Uche Amadi, Ogechi Uchechukwu, Okuchukwu Nwachukwu and Chilaka Ifeanyi.
Following a similar request by the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, Titilayo Shita-Bey, Justice Oshodi court adjourned the matter till March 16.
