If you think criticism surrounding the Buhari-led administration’s decision to shut down the nation’s borders in a bid to halt the massive influx of counterfeited goods into the country has gotten old, well think again.
There’s a lot of noise going on right now in the country regarding Buhari’s goofs at the United Nations General Assembly, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s N90 billion FIRS scandal, Atiku’s 66 grounds of appeal against the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal at the Supreme Court, and lots more.
With so much currently going on in the country, you’ll be forgiven for forgetting that Buhari’s recent decision to shut down the country’s borders was once a trending topic.
However, while you’re probably still away, Senator Shehu Sani is still concerned about the closure of the borders despite a total of ten agencies paid daily to keep activities at the border under checks.
Sani in a tweet posted recently, picked issues with the closure of the borders saying it was unnecessary unless those charged with the responsibility of securing the borders have failed to do their jobs.
Along our borders,We have 5 paramilitary agencies,3 Defence agencies and two intelligence agencies paid daily,to protect our borders, and yet we have to shut the borders to secure our (rice)country.
